Health Data Guide – Installation and Tips (PDF)
FREE layers of healthcare data for the United States are now available for users of the current version of Maptitude. Four separate geographic files are included in this download:
- Healthcare Organizations: A point file with the locations of pharmacies, dental practices, chiropractic practices, eyewear and opticians, nursing facilities, clinics, and hospitals (Includes General/Acute Care, Critical Access, Psychiatric, Rehab, Rural, Military, Chronic Disease, and other hospitals)*
- Healthcare Providers: A point file with the locations of physicians, pharmacists, physical therapists, nurses and nurse practitioners, psychologists, optometrists, social workers, dentists, counselors, and chiropractors*
- Hospitals: A point file with the locations of 6617 hospitals and information about them including the address, phone number, hospital type, network, and number of beds.
- Primary Care Service Areas: An area layer with boundaries from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) that also includes over 600 fields of demographic information from the 2016 5-year American Community Survey and over 400 healthcare related fields sourced from HRSA.

*Also includes up to 15 taxonomy codes and descriptions for each location, e.g., Psychiatric Hospital (283Q00000X), Military Hospital (286500000X), General Acute Care Hospital Children (282NC2000X), Physical Therapy (261QP2000X) and Medicare charges and payments.
